While telling herself that she would some day paint, it was a taking a workshop that pushed Debbie Carroll outside of her comfort zone, and helped her find an artistic voice.
Since then, she has had the pleasure of developing her own use of line and color into a recognizable graphic style. She is drawn to the western and southwestern landscape with an affinity for wide open spaces, a big sky and plenty of clouds that appear regularly in her work. Plein Air painting is now an integral part of her practice and she enjoys painting on location, making observations and studies to bring back to the studio.
Currently represented by galleries in Texas, Arizona New Mexico and Oklahoma, she recently participated in the Coors Western Art Show and Sale in Denver and Cowgirl Up in Wickenburg, Arizona.
